Exhibit (Jackie)
Exhibit at Dinner Party
Artifact 1. Jackie Kennedy's Pink Suit: Jackie's watermelon pink suit has become famous. She was seen wearing it more than six times. The time people remember her wearing it the most was the day of her husband, John F. Kennedys, assassination. After his death she refused to take the blood stained suit off. She stated "No, I'm going to leave these clothes on. I want them to see what they have done." (Source). This suit will be displayed in a case on the wall.

Artifact 2. Red Roses: Jackie Kennedy stated "Every time we got off the plane that day, three times they gave me the yellow roses of Texas. But in Dallas they gave me red roses. I thought how funny, red roses- so all the seat was full of blood and red roses." These roses will be displayed throughout the party as center pieces.

Artifact 3. The Gettysburg Address: Jackie often spoke of Lincoln and all he had accomplished, and how Kennedy never got the chance to do things as great as Lincoln. She made comments such as, at least Lincoln died because he was making progress in civil rights. In her tour of the White House she showed the world Lincolns room, and the renovations and pieces she had brought to the White House. The Gettysburg Address was one of the pieces she showed. This artifact is important, because it showed how much Jackie cared about History, and How she wanted to bring the White House to life. I would display this in a case for the whole party to see.

Artifact 4. The song Camelot: I would display this "artifact" by playing the song Camelot at the party. Jackie wanted Kennedy to be remembered forever. In her exclusive interview with Theodore White, she told White how fond JFK was of the popular Broadway musical, Camelot. He especially liked the concluding lyrics , “Don’t ever let it be forgot, that once there was a spot, for one brief shining moment that was Camelot. " President Kennedy, was strongly attracted to the Camelot legend because he was an idealist who saw history as something made by heroes such as, King Arthur. Jackie once stated "There will be great presidents again, but there will never be another Camelot.” Because of the article White wrote the country will forever remember John Kennedy as the "Camelot."
Artifact 5. Jackie's wedding ring: In the film "Jackie," Jackie speaks of how she took off her wedding ring and put it on John F. Kennedys hand the day he was assassinated. She did this because she wanted "Jack" to have something of hers with him. Later in the film someone returned it to her. She talked about how she was glad she got it back because she needed a piece of Jack with her. This ring would also be displayed in glass case for everyone to see.

Artifact 6. Oil painting of Lincoln in Lincoln room: Throughout the film Jackie talks about the painting of Lincoln, and what it resembles about history. She talks about how sad it is that one day Lincoln was making significant changes in the world, and another day he is just an old artifact hanging on the wall. This portrait will be hung on the wall.

Oil painting of Lincoln's wife, Mary Todd Lincoln: After Kennedys death Jackie, in the film "Jackie," looks up at the painting of Mary and says to Bobby Kennedy "Do you think Lincolns widow knew?" She was talking about the memorial built for Lincoln. Bobby and Jackie continue to talk in an angered tone about how JFK did not have enough time to accomplish great things during his presidency. This Portrait will be hung on the wall next to Lincoln's.
